Hey, we're Rj and Al.
Our mission is to contribute to a world that is more connected, more offline, more analogue than ai. we believe in the power of community, pleasure and music and moto bella is our way to offer more of this kind of goodness to the world.
moto bella vespa is part of the analogue movement - a return to a slower pace, non-digital activities like reading, being outdoors, getting together in real life, and even the reward of inconvenience.
Yep, flipping a record isn't as easy as choosing a playlist on spotify, but the benefits of this old tech go way beyond the sound quality, the immersive experience, the artwork or the physical experience of holding the music in your hands. analogue sound brings the warmth. it warms our weary souls. it slows us down, and invites presence.
And then there's our beautiful 1968 vespa. Sure, you can hire a dj who can show up with just a usb in his pocket. but, mbv, brings a mood, a vibe, an icon. yep, a bit more inconvenient. but so much more reward. we've seen it so many times. bella stops people in their tracks. she is a total babe. when they notice that she's also a mobile vinyl dj booth, minds are blown. she doesn't bring the moment. she is the moment.
Not to be too dramatic, but we believe that analogue will save our souls.

MEET RJ - THE CEO (AND BIZ BOSS)
RJ is an entrpreneur, passionate about empowering people to know themslves beyond their limits and doubts. She is an archetypal cheerleader, who inspires others to embody the best about themselves and to celebrate their lives.
Born in Perth, WA, she grew up all over the world and remains an avid traveller. RJ is a yoga teacher, writer and spiritual teacher.
Moto Bella Vespa is the second business for this biz boss, and she is thrilled to bring the analogue magic of MBV far and wide.
MEET AL - THE MUSIC MAKER (AND HEAVY LIFTER)
Al has been a vinyl DJ for over ten years, and has played in venues all over Australia. He lives for music and has a truly epic vinyl record collection to show for it.
He specialises in Baelaric disco, Soul and Funk. But honestly, that is just the start.
Al is Melbourne born and bred but loves to travel (especially places with record stores!). He lives to make other people happy. MBV is the perfect vehicle (pun intended) for these two great loves.
TEAM MOTO BELLA
Al and RJ met walking their dogs. Since then, they have built a beautiful life in Melbourne's North. Bowie and Stevie Nicks, their dogs, are besties, and life is full and rich.
Moto Bella Vespa is the next step in their grand adventure. For RJ, MBV is about 'mudita' (मुदिता), the vicarious joy that comes from delighting in other people's well-being.
For Al, it is all about his passion for music and his love of being of service to make other people's lives better in every way he can.
Together, they've got everything you need to create an iconic event.
Moto Bella was BORN FROM THE GENIUS OF LEIF, in 2021, WHO RESTORED AND CUSTOMISED MOTO BELLA TO EXACTING STANDARDS. HE BROUGHT HER ICONIC VIBES TO EVENTS ALL OVER AUSTRALIA. IN 2025, HE HANDED his one-of-a-kind creation TO RJ AND AL TO CONTINUE THE RIDE.
Bella is fully driveable, completely customised vintage vespa.
She arrives at your event in her carriage (trailer) and is completely set up according to your needs. we can liaise with your venue to ensure a seamless experience. she is completely self-sufficient, including her own power and bose speakers, or we can use the system of your venue. at the end of the event, we make our efficient exit, with no fuss or bother to you.
